Technical Description
The Mazak QUICK TURN NEXUS 350-II M with the 650U bed is a second-generation QUICK TURN NEXUS CNC turning center with rotary tooling and C-axis, sized for larger chuck work. It carries a 12 in chuck on an A2-11 spindle nose, with a 112 mm (4.41 in) spindle bore and a 102 mm (4.0 in) bar work capacity. The integral main spindle motor is rated 30 kW (40 hp) for 30 minutes and 22 kW (30 hp) continuous, with a stepless range up to 3,300 rpm. Maximum swing is 750 mm (29.53 in), maximum machining diameter is 420 mm (16.54 in) and maximum machining length is 603 mm (23.74 in). A 12-position VDI-type drum turret holds 12 tools with 25 mm turning shanks and 50 mm boring bars and indexes in 0.25 seconds per step. The rotary tool spindle runs to 4,000 rpm on a 7.5 kW (10 hp) motor and handles 23 mm drills, 25 mm end mills and M24 taps. Travels are 260 mm in X and 670 mm in Z, with rapid traverse of 30 m/min in X and 33 m/min in Z. The tailstock has a 645 mm stroke with an MT5 center. The machine needs 44.1 kVA, occupies 3,135 x 2,050 mm of floor space at 2,000 mm high, and weighs 7,000 kg (15,432 lb).
