Technical Description

The Mazak QUICK TURN NEXUS 450-II is a large 2-axis CNC turning center for heavy chucking and shaft work. This row is the 2000U bed version, which gives a maximum machining length of 80.07 in (2,029 mm). Maximum swing is 33.27 in (845 mm) and maximum machining diameter is 23.0 in (580 mm). The main spindle carries an 18 in chuck, runs to 2,000 rpm and is rated 50 hp (37 kW) at its 30-minute rating. Bar work capacity is 5.0 in (139 mm). The upper turret holds 12 tools. Axis travels on the 2000U bed are 12.13 in X and 83.5 in Z. The model was also built on 1000U and 3000U beds, with machining lengths of 38.69 in and 121.32 in, while swing, machining diameter, chuck size, spindle speed and motor rating stay the same across all three beds. The 450-II is the big-bore partner of the QUICK TURN NEXUS 400-II, which shares the same swing, motor and travels but uses a 12 in chuck, a 4.0 in bar capacity and a 2,500 rpm spindle.
