A+Technical Description
The Mitsubishi MV2400R Wire EDM machine is a high-precision CNC wire electrical discharge machining tool designed for complex and accurate cutting tasks. It features the Mitsubishi Advance Plus 3 CNC control system with a 15-inch touchscreen interface for intuitive operation. The machine offers substantial travel ranges with 23.6 inches on the X-axis, 15.7 inches on the Y-axis, and 12.2 inches on the Z-axis, enabling machining depths up to 12.2 inches. Equipped with Mitsubishi’s proprietary V350-V AEII power supply with digital spark control and the DMX-S Digital Matrix Sensor technology, it reduces electrode wear while maintaining surface finish quality. The MV2400R utilizes a non-contact cylindrical drive system on the X, Y, U, and V axes, eliminating backlash and enhancing positional accuracy. It incorporates linear glass scale feedback for the X, Y, U, and V axes and optical rotary encoder feedback on the Z-axis to achieve circular accuracy within 1 micron. The wire tensioning uses a DC-Servo closed-loop torque control system to maintain optimal wire performance. Submerged machining ensures stable cutting and efficient debris removal. For connectivity and programming, the machine supports keyboard input, USB flash memory, and Ethernet with FTP capability. The machine weighs approximately 7,716 lbs and includes advanced automatic wire threading with a new annealing system for improved threading reliability and productivity. This robust configuration caters to industries requiring precision, such as aerospace, automotive, and mold making, delivering efficient, accurate, and cost-effective EDM operations.
