Technical Description

The Miyano BNE-51MSY is a two-spindle, two-turret CNC turning center with a Y-axis, built by Citizen Machinery and sold in the US through Marubeni Citizen-Cincom. It takes bar stock up to 51 mm (2 in) diameter on both the main and back spindles, each with an A2-6 spindle nose, a 52 mm draw tube and a 6-inch power chuck. Both spindles reach 5,000 rpm; the main spindle motor is rated 15/11 kW and the back spindle 7.5/5.5 kW. Each of the two turrets has 12 stations, and up to 12 revolving tools can be fitted on each, driven by a 4.0 kW motor at up to 6,000 rpm. The upper turret has a Y-axis stroke of 80 mm (plus or minus 40 mm). The back spindle carries its own X3-axis, and superimposition control allows two tools, or three tools including the back spindle, to cut at the same time, including simultaneous hole machining on both end faces. Slide strokes are 195 mm in X1 and 380 mm in Z1, with rapids of up to 20 m/min. Maximum chuck work length is 90 mm. Floor space is 2,725 x 2,159 mm, machine height is 2,050 mm and the machine weighs 17,640 lb.
