Technical Description
The Mori Seiki NT1000 (in /W configuration) is a compact, high-precision integrated mill-turn center for small precision parts (medical devices, watches, measuring instruments). Maximum turning diameter is 370 mm (14.57 in) over a 400 mm (15.75 in) turning length. Spindle 1 reaches 6,000 rpm; the B-axis tool spindle is driven by Mori Seiki's DDM (Direct Drive Motor, gearless, max indexing 100 min-1/0.0001°) and travels 380/210/480 mm on X/Y/Z at 40/40/50 m/min rapid traverse, running to a standard 12,000 rpm (20,000 or 30,000 rpm optional) with a 9/5.5 kW motor; Spindle 1's own drive is rated 11/7.5 kW (30-min/continuous). Y-axis thermal stability uses Mori Seiki's ORC (Octagonal Ram Construction), and Spindle 1's headstock holds a constant spindle-center height with its own cooling system. Standard tool storage is 38 tools (76 optional) with a Capto C5 shank (HSK-A50 optional) and a 5-second chip-to-chip change. A standard workpiece ejector, mounted opposite Spindle 1, transfers finished parts after cutoff and rear-side milling, completing the whole bar-to-finished-part process on one machine - a roughly 40% smaller footprint than prior Mori Seiki models. Floor space is 2,425 x 2,705 mm with a 2,385 mm height. WZ and WZM variants add a second turret, the latter with milling capability.
