Technical Description
The Mori Seiki NT6600 DCG is a high-precision, high-efficiency integrated mill-turn center for long, large-diameter workpieces (oil, energy, shipping and printing-machinery parts), launched in 2008 as the largest model in the NT Series at the time. Maximum turning length is 6,076 mm (239.2 in) and maximum turning diameter is 1,070 mm (42.13 in); the model's '/6000' designation refers to this turning-length class. It uses Mori Seiki's DCG (Driven at the Center of Gravity), DDM (Direct Drive Motor) and ORC (Octagonal Ram Construction) technologies, and offers a Y-axis stroke of 660 mm, the largest among multi-axis turning centers of this size at launch. The machine can be configured with up to 3 turrets, with options for long boring bars and steady rests to support long shaft work, and a Capto C8 tool-tip ATC option. Simultaneous 5-axis control (C-axis, Y-axis, B-axis) is supported, and twin steady rests and a tailstock are available per the configuration.
