Technical Description

The Mori Seiki NZ-1500 T2Y2 is a twin-spindle, twin-turret CNC turning center with Y-axis on both turrets. Max swing over the bed is 800 mm (31.5 in), with a 320 mm (12.6 in) max turning diameter over an 810 mm (31.9 in) turning length, and 1,130 mm (44.4 in) between the main and sub spindle noses. Both spindles share the same rating: JIS A2-5 nose, 61 mm quill/bore, speeds to 6,000 rpm, and 22/18 kW of power. Each of the two 16-station turrets (32 tool positions total) carries driven tooling to 6,000 rpm at 7.5/5.5 kW, indexing in 0.18 sec per station. Bar capacity is 52 mm. Axis travel is 210 mm (X) and 810 mm (Z), with a Y-axis range of +65/-45 mm, plus 900 mm of second-spindle (B-axis) travel; rapid traverse is 30 m/min (X) and 50 m/min (Z). The control is a Mori Seiki/Fanuc MSX-701 III with MAPPS III conversational programming. Overall footprint is 3,930 x 2,710 mm and the machine weighs 8,100 kg (17,857 lb).
