Technical Description

The Mori Seiki NZX2500 (Y-type, 600 mm center distance) is a two-turret, high-rigidity multi-axis turning center for automotive and general machinery parts, with milling functions standard via a BMT (Built-in Motor Turret) on Turret 1. Turret 1 reaches a 370 mm max turning diameter with Y-axis travel (+70/-50 mm) and 12 tool stations (rotary-capable); Turret 2 is turning-only with a 260 mm max diameter and 8 stations, moving independently of the tailstock on its own slideway. Max turning length is 600 mm. The spindle rides on the largest-in-class 140 mm bearing, standard through-spindle bore is 91 mm (73 mm or 111 mm bore options available, with matching 5,000 or 2,500 rpm speed ratings), and the standard spindle motor is rated 26/22 kW (30-min/continuous, 709 Nm torque) for a maximum 4,000 rpm. X/Z/Y travel is 225/650/120 mm (Turret 1) and 170/650 mm (Turret 2), with rapid traverse of 25/30/15 m/min. The rotary tool spindle reaches 6,000 rpm on a 5.5/5.5/3.7 kW motor. Chuck size is offered in 10 in or 12 in, and center distance in 600 mm or 1,000 mm. The control is Mori Seiki's MAPPS IV operating system with ESPRIT CAM software included as standard.
