Technical Description

The Mori Seiki SL-150 is a slant-bed CNC turning center from Mori Seiki's SL series, built in the 1990s and early 2000s. It is a compact machine for chucking and bar work on small parts. The spindle turns up to 430 mm (16.9 in) diameter and has a 2.2 in hole through the spindle. Tools are held in a 12-station turret. Machines were supplied with Mori Seiki/Fanuc MSC-series controls, and the series was also built in MC (milling, C-axis) and SMC (sub-spindle with milling) versions, which add live tooling and, on the SMC, a second spindle. The plain SL-150 is a single-spindle, two-axis machine. Spindle speed, motor rating, chuck size, turning length, footprint and weight vary between listings for the different versions and build years and are not stated here.
