Technical Description
The Mori Seiki SL-35 is a slant-bed CNC turning center from Mori Seiki's SL series, built from the 1980s through the 1990s in several versions, including the SL-35A, SL-35B and the SL-35M/MC with rotary tooling. It is a medium-to-large chucking and bar-work lathe that turns up to 420 mm (16.5 in) diameter and 780 mm (30.7 in) length, with a 600 mm (23.6 in) swing over the bed. The plain SL-35 has one spindle and a single turret, with a tailstock for shaft work. Used machines are commonly found with Fanuc-based controls such as the Fanuc 10T and Mori Seiki's MF-T6 (Fanuc 16T). Spindle bore, spindle speed, motor rating, turret size, chuck size, footprint and weight differ between versions and listings and are not stated here.
