Technical Description

The Muratec MW200GT is the twin-gantry-loader version of the MW200 twin-spindle CNC chucker built by Murata Machinery for high-volume turning of larger chucked parts such as automotive hubs, gears and flanges. Two identical spindles sit side by side, each served by its own turret, and two gantry loaders handle parts for the two spindles. The machine can run the same operation on both spindles or split first and second operations between them. On the MW200 platform, standard chuck size is 8 inches (210 mm), with a 10 inch (254 mm) chuck optional, and the spindle nose is JIS A2-6. Each turret carries 10 tools as standard (20 in total), with 12 per turret (24 in total) available as an option. A square slide and turret bar construction provide rigidity. Maximum spindle speed is 2,400 or 3,500 rpm depending on the spindle specification, and each spindle is driven by a 15 kW or 22 kW (30 min) AC motor. A high-power spindle version uses a JIS A2-8 nose with 22 kW standard or 30 kW optional motors. Chips fall directly away from the cutting zone, and a full range of options supports unattended production.
