Technical Description

The Okuma GENOS L2000-e M is a one-saddle, two-axis CNC lathe with a milling turret, part of the GENOS L series that Okuma launched in 2010. It has an integral (built-in motor) main spindle with a JIS A2-6 nose, 2.44 in bore and a 45 to 5,000 rpm range, rated 15/11 kW (20/15 hp, 20 minute/continuous). The V12 multitasking turret holds 12 tools and indexes in 0.1 seconds; its driven tools run from 50 to 6,000 rpm on a 4.0/1.8 kW motor, and C-axis control allows milling and drilling at any angle. Swing over bed is 17.72 in, maximum turning diameter on the M version is 7.87 in and maximum work length is 14.96 in. Rapid traverse is 82 fpm on X and 98 fpm on Z. TAS-C thermal compensation is standard. The machine uses the OSP-P300LA-e control with the OSP suite apps. A separate coolant tank, easy spindle access and low chip accumulation simplify maintenance. Floor space is 97.64 in by 72.48 in and the machine weighs 8,642 lb. It suits small chucked parts that need turning plus secondary milling in one setup.
