Technical Description

The Okuma GENOS L3000-e MYW is a one-saddle CNC multitasking lathe with a Y-axis milling turret and a W-axis sub-spindle, part of the GENOS L series that Okuma launched in 2010. The integral main spindle has a JIS A2-8 nose, 3.15 in bore and a 38 to 3,800 rpm range, rated 22/15 kW (30/20 hp, 20 minute/continuous). The sub-spindle runs from 100 to 6,000 rpm with a 2.09 in bore on a 7.5/5.5 kW motor and travels 20.47 in on the W axis, allowing back-side machining and hands-off part transfer. The V12 turret holds 12 tools; driven tools run from 45 to 6,000 rpm on a 5.5/3.7 kW motor. Y-axis travel is 3.94 in (plus or minus 1.97 in) and C-axis control is standard on both spindles. Swing over bed is 20.47 in. Rapid traverse is 82 fpm on X, 98 fpm on Z and 33 fpm on Y. The machine uses the OSP-P300LA-e control with OSP suite apps, and TAS-C thermal compensation is standard. Floor space is 119.49 in by 78.43 in, height is 89.17 in and the machine weighs 13,228 lb. It suits medium chucked parts that need turning, milling and back working in one cycle.
