Technical Description

The Okuma LB2500 EX II (marketed by Okuma as the SPACE TURN LB2500 EX) is a 1-saddle, slant-bed CNC turning center documented in Okuma's own factory brochure for this model. The base (L) specification provides a maximum turning diameter of 16.14 inches (410 mm) over a swing of 22.83 inches (580 mm) over the bed and 18.5 inches (470 mm) over the saddle. The standard main spindle uses a JIS A2-6 nose with an 80 mm (3.15 in) through-bore and a 120 mm front bearing diameter, turning at speeds from 45 to 5,000 rpm and driven by a 22/15 kW (30/20 hp) integral spindle motor rated for 30-minute and continuous duty respectively. Tooling is held in a 12-position V12 NC turret, and the machine ships standard with an 8-inch chuck (10-inch available). It is equipped with Okuma's OSP-P300LA CNC control as standard. Okuma's Thermo-Friendly Concept thermal-stability technology and a slanted box-bed construction are applied across the LB EX II family to maintain dimensional stability during long, unattended production runs. This capacity and spindle configuration is published directly in Okuma's own factory brochure for the LB2500 EX II, downloaded from okuma.com, independent of third-party dealer reporting.
