Technical Description
The Okuma LB3000 EX II is a 1-saddle, slant-bed CNC turning center, and the subject unit carries Okuma's factory Big-Bore spindle option, which substitutes a larger-diameter spindle cartridge for machining large-diameter bar stock or thick-walled tube and pipe. Per Okuma's own factory brochure for the LB3000 EX (II) series, the Big-Bore spindle uses a JIS A2-8 nose with a 91 mm (3.58 in) through-bore and turns across a range of 42 to 4,200 rpm, driven by a 30/22 kW (40/30 hp) integral spindle motor rated for 30-minute and continuous duty. The machine's maximum turning diameter is 16.14 inches (410 mm), a figure governed by the machine's swing rather than the spindle bore option and shared with the standard-spindle configuration. Tooling is held in a 12-position V12 NC turret, and the machine carries a single main spindle, consistent with the absence of a W/MY sub-spindle suffix in this unit's model designation. The machine is equipped with Okuma's OSP-P300LA CNC control as standard. Okuma applies its Thermo-Friendly Concept thermal-stability technology and a slanted box-bed construction across the LB EX II family to maintain dimensional accuracy during heavy, Big-Bore-capacity cutting. These figures are drawn directly from Okuma's own factory brochure for the LB3000 EX (II) series, downloaded from okuma.com.
