Technical Description

The Okuma LB3000 EX II is a single-saddle, slant-bed CNC lathe built on a box-way bed, part of Okuma's Affordable Excellence line. The base 2-axis configuration with the 500 mm bed turns parts up to 410 mm (16.14 in) in diameter and 500 mm (19.69 in) long. Swing is 580 mm over the bed and 470 mm over the saddle. The standard spindle has a JIS A2-6 nose and an 80 mm (3.15 in) bore. It runs from 45 to 5,000 rpm in two automatic ranges, driven by an Okuma PREX motor rated 22 kW (30 hp) for 30 minutes and 15 kW continuous. The standard chuck is 8 in. Tooling is carried on a 12-station V12 NC turret that holds 25 mm OD shanks and 40 mm boring bars. Rapid traverse is 25 m/min in X and 30 m/min in Z. The machine uses Okuma's Thermo-Friendly Concept for thermal stability and the OSP-P300LA control. Beds of 1,000 mm and 1,300 mm are offered, as are Big-Bore (91 mm) and Super Big-Bore (110 mm) spindles. M, MY, W, MW and MYW versions add live tooling, a Y-axis and a sub-spindle.
