Technical Description

The Okuma LB45III-BB is the Big-Bore spindle configuration of Okuma's LB45 III 1-saddle CNC lathe, part of the current LB series sold new by Okuma. Maximum turning diameter is 25.98 in (660 mm), with maximum turning length options of 29.53, 78.74, 118.11, or 157.48 in (750/2000/3000/4000 mm) depending on the bed length ordered. The Big-Bore spindle uses an A2-11 nose with a 5.12 in (130 mm) bore, reaching a maximum speed of 2,400 RPM. The spindle motor is rated 45 kW (60.3 hp) for 30 minutes and 37 kW (49.6 hp) continuous, with maximum torque of 5,047 N-m (30-min) / 4,155 N-m (continuous). The machine has a 12-station turret and X/Z axis travel that scales with bed length (614 mm / 1,060-4,060 mm respectively on the longest configuration). It runs Okuma's OSP CNC control with full-range absolute position feedback, a 15-inch color LCD with multi-touch operation, and Okuma's Thermo-Friendly Concept for thermal stability. The LB45III is built for process-intensive, high-accuracy 1-chucking production turning.
