Technical Description

The POREBA TCG-200 manual lathe is a heavy-duty, high-precision machine designed for demanding turning operations. It features a 92-inch swing over bed ways and a 78-inch swing over cross slide, with a maximum distance between centers of 472 inches, extendable by an additional 120 inches. Equipped with a powerful 100 HP main motor, the lathe offers spindle speeds from 0.8 to 160 RPM across 24 speed settings and three speed ranges, supporting a spindle bore diameter of 105 mm. This lathe includes inch, metric, and modular threading capabilities, enhanced by a power compound for taper turning and a 4-way tool post for versatile tooling setups. Hardened, ground, and replaceable bed ways provide durability and accuracy, complemented by hardened and ground gears and spline shafts within a heavy-duty Meehanite casting body. The lathe is fitted with three roller steady rests with capacities of 16", 24", and 44", along with a 63" diameter 4-jaw independent chuck and a 78" diameter faceplate to secure large workpieces weighing up to 66,000 lbs between centers. Operator convenience is supported by a pendant control and an operator platform, along with a Sony 2-axis Digital Readout (DRO) system for precise measurement. Auxiliary compound-mounted milling and grinding attachments enhance operational flexibility. The lathe also includes power-driven tailstock and quill, six-way power rapid traverse, and various feed rate options for longitudinal, cross, and top slides, ensuring efficient machining of large, heavy components with high accuracy and reliability.
