The PROKING PA-40 manual lathe features a robust design ideal for heavy-duty turning operations, offering a swing capacity of 39.76 inches (1,010 mm) over the bed. It is equipped with a powerful 20 HP dual-voltage spindle motor that ensures consistent machining performance. The lathe incorporates a one-piece floor-type casting bed with two "V" ways and a front lateral way for enhanced carriage support and stability during cutting. All guideways are precision hardened and ground to provide smooth, accurate movement. Its spindle assembly supports a bore of up to 14 inches, facilitating the machining of large-diameter workpieces. The lathe provides variable spindle speeds distributed across four automatic ranges, controlled through a universal enclosed inch/metric gearbox. It includes a pressurized one-shot lubrication system for the cross slide and carriage, enhancing operational reliability and reducing maintenance. The carriage features a positioning device and supports a six-way rapid traverse plus power feed to the top slide, enabling precise tool control and efficient material removal.
