Technical Description

The SAN SHING SE-2860 Manual Lathe is a heavy-duty precision engine lathe designed for demanding machining applications. Featuring a robust, heavily ribbed wide bed constructed from high-strength cast iron, it ensures exceptional rigidity and vibration damping for accurate heavy cutting. The lathe offers a swing of 28 inches (711 mm) over the bed and 19.5 inches (495 mm) over the cross slide, with a center distance of 60 inches (1,524 mm), accommodating large workpieces. The main spindle is large diameter and precision ground, supported at three points by high-precision bearings, and features a through spindle bore of 3.125 inches (80 mm) for handling long bar stock. Spindle speeds range from 15 to 1,000 RPM, with 12 speed changes, powered by a 10 horsepower main motor, providing ample torque for heavy-duty turning. The lathe is equipped with a readily adjustable overload safety device on the apron and dual manual and automatic lubrication for slide surfaces, ensuring smooth operation and extended component life. Longitudinal feeds range from 0.05 to 0.7 mm/rev, and cross feeds from 0.025 to 0.35 mm/rev, supporting a wide range of machining tasks. It can cut metric threads from 0.8 to 14 mm and inch threads from 2 to 28 threads per inch. The tailstock features a quill travel of 230 mm (9 inches) with a No. 5 Morse taper center. The bed width is 460 mm (18 1/8 inches), and the machine is equipped with an automatic stopper for longitudinal feeds. This lathe is ideal for precision and heavy-duty turning operations in industrial environments.
