Technical Description
The SMTCL CA6161A is a conventional manual lathe engineered for precision turning operations on steel, cast iron, and nonferrous metals. With a maximum swing of 24.02 inches and swing over cross slide of 14.57 inches, this machine accommodates workpieces up to 1,900mm in length, making it suitable for mid-range production work. Powered by a 7.5kW (10.06 HP) motor, the lathe operates at speeds up to 1,600 RPM across 24 selectable steps, providing versatility for diverse machining requirements. The spindle features a No. 6 Morse taper with a 52mm bore diameter, enabling compatibility with standard tooling.
This machine delivers high dimensional accuracy to IT7 levels with smooth surface finishes, capable of executing internal and external cylindrical turning, conical surfaces, threading (metric, inch, modular, and radial pitch), drilling, reaming, and groove creation. The 400mm wide hardened bed (Rc52 hardness) ensures rigidity and durability during extended operations. Equipped with a manual braking system, the lathe provides sensitive and reliable operational control for enhanced safety. The saddle design accommodates both standard and irregularly shaped parts, extending application flexibility. Measuring 2,550 x 1,140 x 1,750mm overall, the CA6161A represents an economical solution for machine shops requiring dependable conventional lathe capabilities without CNC complexity, delivering robust performance for general turning and thread-cutting applications.
