Technical Description

The SNK Prodigy GT-27 is a turretless gang-tool CNC lathe designed for small-part turning, using a polymer-composite base instead of cast iron for vibration damping. Spindle speed is variable from 100 to 6,000 rpm, with a 5C spindle nose and a 1.06 in spindle bore, driven by a 7.4 hp (5 kW) motor at a 15-minute rating. Maximum chuck size is 4 in, with maximum bar capacity of 1.06 in. X-axis travel is 12 in and Z-axis travel is 6.5 in, with a feed rate of 300 ipm and rapid traverse of 800 ipm. The machine uses a GE Fanuc 0i-Mate TC control. Because it has no turret, tool changes are eliminated, supporting shorter cycle times for small-parts production. Machine weight and C-axis indexing resolution are reported inconsistently across sources and are left blank.
