Technical Description

The Spinner TC 600-65 is a German-built CNC slant-bed turning center from Spinner Werkzeugmaschinenfabrik GmbH, designed for universal and bar-stock turning. The machine uses box-way (sliding) guideways on all axes for rigidity and vibration damping, a high-precision cartridge-type main spindle, and a CNC-controlled tailstock mounted on its own slide. Standard tooling is a 16-station BMT45 turret, with Y-axis and live-tool (MC) versions available for 16 driven stations at up to 6,000 rpm. Main spindle speed reaches 4,000 rpm, with power of 21 kW continuous (S1) / 27 kW intermittent (S6 40%) and torque of 201/258 Nm. Maximum turning diameter is approximately 400 mm (15.75 in) over a swing of about 600 mm, with a maximum turning length of about 650 mm (25.6 in) and a bar/collet-through capacity of 65 mm (2.56 in). Standard chuck size is 250 mm (9.84 in). Machine footprint is approximately 2.5 x 1.6 x 2.0 m (98.4 x 63.0 x 78.7 in), with a shipping weight (with tailstock/sub-spindle, unpackaged) of roughly 5,600-5,800 kg (12,350-12,790 lbs). Controls are customer-selectable between Siemens 840D SL (Shop-Turn) and Fanuc 31i-TA (Manual Guide i). Optional packages include a sub-spindle, hard-turning upgrade, glass linear scales, bar feeder interface, and a bar-stock part-catcher for workpieces up to 65 mm diameter and 140 mm length.
