The WEILER Primus VCD is a precision manual engine lathe featuring an 11.02-inch (280 mm) swing over the bed and a center distance of 19.69 inches (500 mm), suitable for versatile turning operations. It is powered by a 6.71 HP (5 kW) main spindle motor capable of variable speeds up to 4,000 RPM via a stepless, infinitely variable speed control driven by a maintenance-free three-phase asynchronous motor with speed regulation and actual value feedback, ensuring optimized cutting conditions and fine surface finishes. The spindle bore measures 1.69 inches (43 mm), accommodating various workpiece sizes, while the center height is 140 mm, allowing a maximum workpiece diameter of 280 mm. It includes a 40 mm diameter tailstock quill with 85 mm travel and MT3 taper, enabling precise and stable support for workpieces. The lathe offers a comprehensive feed range with 24 longitudinal and transverse feeds, and it supports metric and inch thread cutting. Optional features include a digital VCD readout with a 9-inch color screen for three-axis position readout and constant cutting speed control, oriented spindle stop, and electronic limit switching to enhance usability and precision.
