Technical Description
The Yama Seiki GLS-200 is a compact two-axis CNC turning center built by Goodway, the Taiwanese parent of Yama Seiki USA, and sold as the larger model of the GLS-150 series. It takes an 8-inch chuck on an A2-6 spindle nose with a 76 mm (2.99 in) hole through the spindle and 65 mm (2.55 in) bar capacity. The spindle is belt driven directly at a 1:1 ratio, runs from 45 to 4,500 rpm, and uses an 11 kW (15 hp) continuous / 15 kW (20 hp) 30-minute motor. Maximum swing is 500 mm (19.68 in), swing over the saddle 310 mm; maximum turning diameter is 360 mm (14.17 in) and maximum turning length 500 mm (19.68 in). X and Z travels are 210 mm and 520 mm on linear guideways, with 30 m/min rapids. The servo-indexed turret takes 25 mm square OD tools and 40 mm boring bars. A live-tooling turret with 12 driven stations (4,000 rpm, 2.5 kW) is available as an option. An optional tailstock uses an MT#4 quill with 150 mm of programmable travel. The machine occupies 2,432 x 1,643 mm, stands 1,727 mm high and weighs 3,200 kg. The standard control on current builds is the Fanuc 0i-TF.
