A+Technical Description
The 2014 YCM NSV102A is a 3-axis vertical machining center built by Yeong Chin Machinery Industries of Taiwan, one of the most popular and widely distributed mid-size VMC platforms in North America throughout the 2000s and 2010s. The machine offers X/Y/Z travels of 40.2 x 20.1 x 22.8 inches, providing a versatile work envelope for the full range of production milling, drilling, boring, and tapping operations in aluminum, steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous materials. The CAT-40 spindle delivers 15 HP at up to 10,000 RPM, offering a well-balanced power-to-speed ratio for general-purpose production machining. YCM’s isolated direct-drive (IDD) spindle design employs ceramic bearings and a coaxial motor-spindle arrangement to achieve low vibration, superior surface finish, and significantly extended spindle and tooling life compared to belt-driven competitors. The Fanuc MXP CNC control provides rigid tapping, helical interpolation, DNC Ethernet and RS-232 connectivity, and a familiar programming environment. An automatic tool changer supports efficient multi-operation production cycles, and the fully enclosed guarding with integrated chip and coolant management maintains a productive, clean machining environment. At approximately 13,200 lbs machine weight, the NSV102A offers the structural mass needed to maintain dimensional consistency across long production runs. Its combination of reliability, IDD spindle, and Taiwanese build quality made the NSV102A a benchmark in its market segment.
