Technical Description
The ZMMBG CU 400MRD X 1500 manual lathe is a robust conventional lathe designed for precision turning of external and internal cylindrical surfaces, thread cutting, and drilling operations. It features a swing capacity of 17.32 inches (440 mm) over the bed and 9.45 inches (240 mm) over the cross slide, enabling machining of medium-sized workpieces. The lathe accommodates a maximum distance between centers of 59.06 inches (1500 mm), making it suitable for longer shaft components. Its spindle bore measures 2.83 inches (72 mm), allowing the passage of sizable stock materials.
Powered by a 14.75 HP (approximately 11 kW) motor, the headstock supports variable spindle speeds up to 2,000 RPM with typically 21 graduated speed steps, providing versatility for a range of materials and cutting conditions. The machine incorporates longitudinal and cross feeds with fine control, suitable for threading and finishing tasks. It supports cutting various thread types, including metric, inch, module, and diametral-pitch.
The lathe has a stable and rigid bed construction, commonly 400 mm wide, ensuring precision and vibration resistance during heavy cutting. Additional features typically include a quick-change tool post, safety guards, a tailstock with a travel of about 230 mm, and facility for coolant supply. The machine weighs around 2,800 to 2,900 kg and is manually operated, providing reliable and accurate turning capabilities for workshops requiring traditional lathe operations.
This lathe is widely used in metalworking for manufacturing components such as shafts, bushings, and threaded parts, balancing power, size, and precision for industrial applications.
