The CUBIC PLG-52 is a high-performance horizontal machining center engineered for precision and versatility in CNC turning applications. Featuring a rugged boxway construction, it supports heavy-duty cutting and ensures long-term accuracy and reliability. The machine is equipped with a single main spindle capable of a maximum turning diameter of 12.000" and a maximum turning length of 18.900", with a chuck diameter of 8.000" and a maximum swing of 7.870". The main spindle can accommodate bar stock up to 2.050" in diameter and is powered by a 10 HP motor, achieving speeds up to 4,000 RPM with an index increment of 1.000. The PLG-52 utilizes a gang slide as its primary tool carrier, supporting up to 6 turning tools and 6 rotary tools, and can be optionally equipped with an 8-station hydraulic turret for additional tooling flexibility, allowing up to 8 more tools. The machine operates on a 2-axis system with X-axis travel of 12.600" and Z-axis travel of 22.050", both axes offering rapid traverse rates of 629 ipm.
