A+Technical Description
The Cubic PLG-60 is a high-precision horizontal machining center designed for turning large parts with robust versatility and advanced control. It features a single A2-6 spindle with a maximum turning diameter of 15.0", a turning length of 18.9", and an 8.66" max swing, accommodating bar diameters up to 2.95" through the spindle bore and a 10" chuck for workholding. The spindle is driven by a powerful 15 HP motor with speeds up to 3,500 RPM, supporting index increments of 1° for precise positioning. Tooling is configured with a primary gang slide carrier holding up to 6 turning and 6 rotary tools plus an optional secondary 8-station turret for additional turning tools, allowing flexible setups and minimized cycle times. Only one cutting tool operates simultaneously, ensuring focused machining accuracy. The machine provides a secondary on-center mill/drill function as standard, expanding its milling capabilities within the turning cycle. The PLG-60 uses a 2-axis CNC control system with X and Z-axis travels of 12.6" and 22.05", respectively. Both axes feature rapid traverse rates of 472 inches per minute for efficient tool movement during non-cutting operations. Its rugged boxway construction delivers heavy-duty cutting capability and long-term rigidity, while the gang-tool layout allows easy customization for various production demands. Integrated with industry-standard Fanuc CNC, this horizontal machining center is optimized for precision, productivity, and versatility in machining large automotive and industrial components.
