Technical Description

The PUMA 700L is a large two-axis horizontal CNC turning center from the Daewoo/Doosan PUMA 600/700/800 series, in the long-bed (L) version. It is built on a box-way bed for heavy shafts and pipe work and carries a 24-inch chuck on an A1-15 spindle nose. The spindle has a 181 mm (7.1 in) through hole and 164 mm bar capacity, runs to 1,500 rpm through a geared headstock, and is driven by a 45 kW (60.3 hp) 30-minute / 37 kW (49.6 hp) continuous motor, with a 75 kW motor available as an option. Swing over bed is 1,030 mm (40.6 in), swing over the saddle 800 mm; maximum turning diameter is 900 mm (35.4 in) and maximum turning length on the L bed is 3,200 mm (126 in). X-axis travel is 470 mm and Z-axis travel 3,235 mm. The 12-station turret takes 32 mm square OD tools and 80 mm boring bars. A programmable tailstock with an MT#6 quill (160 mm diameter, 150 mm travel) supports long work. The long-bed machine occupies 7,360 x 2,770 mm of floor space, stands 2,590 mm high and weighs about 21,800 kg.
