Technical Description
The Mori Seiki NL2500/1250 is a horizontal slant-bed CNC turning center from the NL Series in its long-bed 1250 mm distance-between-centers type, here in the basic 2-axis turning form with one spindle, a 12-station turret and a tailstock. Swing over bed is 923.8 mm (36.4 in), swing over cross slide is 755 mm (29.7 in), maximum turning diameter is 366 mm (14.4 in) with 20 mm tool shanks or 356 mm (14.0 in) with 25 mm shanks, and maximum turning length is 1,298 mm (51.1 in). Spindle 1 has a JIS A2-8 nose, a 91 mm (3.6 in) through-hole, 80 mm (3.1 in) bar capacity and 140 mm front bearings, takes a 10-inch chuck and runs to 4,000 rpm on an 18.5/18.5/15 kW (24.7/24.7/20 HP) motor rated 25%ED/50%ED/continuous, with a 26 kW option. The turret takes 10- and 20-station heads as options, holds 25 mm square shanks and 50 mm boring bars, and indexes in 0.2 s. X- and Z-axis travels are 260 mm and 1,345 mm, with 30 m/min rapid traverse. The tailstock travels 1,284 mm, has a 110 mm quill and takes an MT5 live center. The machine stands 2,232 mm (87.9 in) high on a 4,339 x 2,143 mm floor space and weighs 7,200 kg (15,840 lb).
