Technical Description
The DMG MORI NT4250 DCG/1500 is a turn-mill (multi-tasking) machine from the NT DCG series, built with DMG MORI's DCG (Driven at the Center of Gravity) design to suppress vibration during rapid axis moves. The /1500 designation is the longer bed, giving a maximum turning length of 1,562 mm (61.5 in) and a 1,760 mm (69.2 in) distance between centers. Maximum swing is 730 mm (28.7 in) and maximum turning diameter with the tool spindle is 660 mm (25.9 in). Spindle 1 has a JIS A2-8 nose, a 91 mm (3.6 in) through-spindle hole, 80 mm (3.1 in) bar capacity, a 10-inch chuck and a top speed of 4,000 rpm from a 22/18.5 kW (30/24.7 HP) direct-drive motor (26/22 kW high-output option). The B-axis tool spindle swivels ±120 degrees, runs to 12,000 rpm with a Capto C6 taper as standard, and is fed by a 20-tool chain magazine expandable to 40 or 100 tools, or a 179/239-tool rack. Axis travels are X 750 mm, Y ±210 mm and Z 1,120 mm. A servo-driven digital tailstock is standard on the base version. Options include a lower turret 2 with 12 stations (Z versions) and a second spindle (S versions). Floor space is about 5,326 x 3,264 mm with a machine height of 2,793 mm, and the base machine weighs 23,700 kg.
