Technical Description
The Doosan Lynx 220LMSA is a compact slant-bed CNC turning center from the Lynx 220 series, built with a long bed, a live-tool BMT turret, a C-axis main spindle and an opposed sub-spindle for complete front and back machining in one setup. The A designation means the 6-inch chuck, A2-5 spindle version. Swing over the bed is 600 mm (23.6 in), with 400 mm (15.7 in) over the saddle. Maximum turning diameter is 300 mm (11.8 in) and maximum turning length is 510 mm (20.1 in). Bar working capacity is 51 mm (2.0 in). The main spindle takes a 6-inch chuck. The main spindle runs to 6,000 rpm with an A2-5 spindle nose and a 61 mm (2.4 in) through hole, driven by a 15/11 kW (20.1/14.8 hp, 30-minute/continuous) motor. The sub-spindle reaches 6,000 rpm with a 43 mm (1.7 in) through hole and a 5.5/3.7 kW motor, and travels 550 mm on its own B axis. Axis travels are 205 mm (8.1 in) in X and 550 mm (21.7 in) in Z, with rapid traverse of 30 m/min in X and 36 m/min in Z. The 12-station BMT turret (24-position index) indexes in 0.11 seconds and drives rotary tools to 6,000 rpm with a 3.7 kW (5.0 hp) motor; C-axis indexing is in 0.001-degree steps. The machine occupies 2,763 x 1,627 mm (108.8 x 64.1 in) with a height of 1,655 mm (65.2 in) and weighs 3,400 kg (7,496 lb).
