Technical Description
The Doosan Lynx 220LSYA is a compact slant-bed CNC turning center from the Lynx 220 Y series, combining a long bed, a Y axis, a live-tool BMT turret and an opposed sub-spindle so that turned, milled and off-center features can be finished in one setup. The A designation means the 6-inch chuck, A2-5 spindle version. Swing over the bed is 600 mm (23.6 in), with 400 mm (15.7 in) over the saddle. Maximum turning diameter is 300 mm (11.8 in) and maximum turning length is 510 mm (20.1 in). The main spindle runs to 6,000 rpm with an A2-5 spindle nose and a 61 mm (2.4 in) through hole, driven by a 15 kW (20.1 hp) motor. The sub-spindle reaches 6,000 rpm with a 43 mm (1.7 in) through hole and a 5.5/3.7 kW (7.4/5.0 hp) motor. Axis travels are 205 mm (8.1 in) in X, 105 mm (4.1 in) in Y and 560 mm (22.0 in) in Z, with rapid traverse of 30 m/min in X, 10 m/min in Y and 36 m/min in Z. The 12-station BMT turret (24-position index) takes 20 mm tool shanks and drives rotary tools with a 3.7 kW (5.0 hp) motor; both spindles index as C axes in 0.001-degree steps. The control is the Doosan-Fanuc i series with a 10.4-inch color LCD and embedded Ethernet. The machine occupies 2,850 x 1,710 mm (112.2 x 67.3 in) with a height of 1,920 mm (75.6 in) and weighs 3,900 kg (8,598 lb).
