Technical Description

The Doosan Puma 1500SY is a compact horizontal CNC turning center with a main spindle, an opposing sub-spindle and a Y-axis on the turret, so parts can be turned, milled, drilled and tapped on both ends in one cycle. The SY suffix denotes the sub-spindle and Y-axis configuration of the Puma 1500 model. It is a single-turret machine and is distinct from the twin-turret Puma TT1500SY. Machines of this model were supplied with FANUC CNC controls and a live-tool turret. It is used for small, complex parts such as fittings, valve components and short shafts, often fed from a bar feeder with parts transferred to the sub-spindle for back working.
