Technical Description
The Doosan PUMA 2500LY is the long-bed version of the PUMA 2500Y, a slant-bed CNC turning center with live tooling and a Y-axis. It swings 23.6 in (600 mm) over the bed and 21.7 in over the saddle, with a maximum turning diameter of 13.0 in (330 mm), a recommended turning diameter of 10.0 in (255 mm) and a maximum turning length of 29.5 in (750 mm). The A2-8 main spindle runs to 3,500 rpm on a 22 kW (29.5 hp) motor, has a 3.39 in (86 mm) through hole and 3.0 in (76 mm) bar working diameter, and indexes as a C-axis in 0.001-degree steps. A 12-station turret takes 25 mm square OD tools and 40 mm boring bars; rotary tools run to 5,000 rpm on a 5.5 kW motor. Travels are 9.8 in (250 mm) in X, 32.7 in (830 mm) in Z and 3.9 in (plus or minus 2 in) in Y, with rapid traverse of 20/24 m/min on X/Z and 7.5 m/min on Y. The tailstock has an 80 mm quill with MT4 taper and 120 mm quill travel. The machine is 124.9 in long, 69.9 in wide and 81.1 in high and weighs 11,684 lb (5,300 kg). The standard control on Y models is the FANUC 18i-T.
