Technical Description
The Doosan PUMA MX2100ST is a multi-tasking turning center with twin opposed spindles, a B-axis turn-mill spindle with automatic tool changer and a lower turret, built for complete machining of complex medium-size parts. The left spindle carries an 8-inch chuck, runs to 5,000 rpm and delivers 22 kW (30 hp) with 318 Nm of torque; its through-hole is 68 mm (2.68 inches), and the right spindle has a 65 mm through-hole. The milling spindle turns to 12,000 rpm with 18.5 kW (25 hp) and 81 Nm, swivels through 240 degrees on the B-axis and draws from a 40-tool magazine with a 1.8-second tool change. A 12-station BMT-55 lower turret with 5,000 rpm rotary tools works at the same time as the upper spindle. Travels are 22.2 inches on X1, 41.3 inches on Z1 and 170 mm on Y, with 1,417 in/min rapids on X1 and Z1. Maximum turning diameter is 21.26 inches and maximum turning length is 40.16 inches. The machine measures 190.94 inches long, 99.41 inches wide and 110.43 inches high and weighs 26,455 lb. Typical work includes aerospace, medical, and oil and gas components that need turning, milling and drilling on both ends.
