Technical Description

The DN Solutions (formerly Doosan) PUMA TT2100SYY is a twin-spindle, twin-turret horizontal turning center with Y-axis on both the upper and lower turrets. It is built on a one-piece 45-degree slant bed casting with roller-type linear guideways. The left and right spindles each carry an 8 inch chuck, run to 5,000 rpm and are rated 25 kW maximum and 18 kW continuous, with 223 Nm of torque. Spindle through-holes are 68 mm on the left spindle and 65 mm on the right, with a 65 mm bar capacity. Each turret has 12 stations (24 in total) for BMT-55 tooling, and the live tool drive delivers 7.5 kW at up to 5,000 rpm. Axis travels are 165 mm in X1 and X2, 700 mm in Z1 and Z2, and 100 mm (plus or minus 50 mm) in Y. Rapid traverse rates are 30 m/min in X, 40 m/min in Z and 15 m/min in Y. Maximum turning diameter is 230 mm from either turret and maximum turning length is 230 mm. The two turrets can cut simultaneously on the main spindle, or work the main and sub spindles at the same time, so one-side and back-side operations finish in a single cycle. The machine measures 3,880 mm long, 2,360 mm wide and 2,250 mm high, and weighs 9,500 kg. It is offered with FANUC or Siemens controls and can be fitted with a bar feeder, part catcher or part unloader for unattended production.
