Technical Description

The 2015 Haas TM3P is a 3-axis vertical machining center and the largest model in the Haas toolroom mill series, designed for toolroom operations and light production work requiring extended travel. It provides 40" x 20" x 16" (X/Y/Z) of travel and a 44" x 20" T-slot worktable that accommodates long parts, wide fixtures, and multi-part setups that exceed the capacity of both the TM1 and TM2. The inline direct-drive spindle delivers 7.5 HP continuous at a maximum of 7,500 RPM with CAT40 toolholder compatibility. This configuration supports milling, drilling, boring, and rigid tapping in aluminum, mild and stainless steel, cast iron, and engineering polymers. The extended X-axis travel of 40" is particularly useful for long extrusions, panels, or parts requiring progressive repositioning along a single setup. A factory-installed Renishaw probing system is integrated, enabling automated tool length measurement and in-cycle workpiece probing to reduce manual setup steps and improve dimensional repeatability across batches. The Haas CNC control provides conversational and full G-code programming, a built-in tool offset library, macro capability, and USB connectivity. The control interface is consistent with TM1 and TM2 toolroom mills, allowing shops to standardize operator training across the series. The machine footprint is approximately 90" long by 76" wide, requiring adequate floor planning for installation. Machine weight is approximately 5,500 lbs.
