Technical Description

The 2021 Haas UMC1250SS is a 5-axis universal machining center built on the extended UMC-1250 trunnion platform with the Super Speed spindle option for elevated cutting performance. Linear travel is 50" x 32" x 28" (X/Y/Z), with a 630 mm (approximately 24.8") diameter trunnion pallet, A-axis tilt of ±110°, and continuous C-axis rotation of 360°. The Super Speed CAT40 spindle delivers 30 HP continuous at up to 15,000 RPM, enabling high-surface-speed 5-axis machining of aluminum, aerospace alloys, titanium, and other materials where spindle speed directly reduces cycle time and improves surface finish. The 50" X-axis provides greater reach than the UMC-1000SS, accommodating longer workpieces and multi-part tombstone fixtures. Full simultaneous 5-axis contouring and 3+2 indexed positioning are supported throughout the travel envelope. A 40+1 side-mount tool changer is standard, with coolant-through spindle available for deep-pocket and small-diameter tooling applications. The Haas NGC control provides full 5-axis interpolation, Dynamic Work Offsets, Tool Center Point Control, and TCPC / WSEC capability. CAM post-processor compatibility is broad, and the control interface is consistent with other NGC-equipped Haas machines, reducing retraining in multi-machine environments. The UMC-1250SS footprint is approximately 220" long by 130" wide by 130" tall, with a machine weight of approximately 37,000 lbs.
