Technical Description

The 2022 Haas UMC1500 DUO is a 5-axis dual-pallet universal machining center designed for high-volume precision production. Built on the UMC-1500 trunnion platform, it incorporates two 630 mm pallets that alternate between the cutting zone and the operator load/unload station, maximizing spindle utilization by enabling setup of the next workpiece while the current part is actively being machined. Linear travel is 59" x 40" x 32" (X/Y/Z), with A-axis tilt of ±110° and continuous C-axis rotation of 360°, supporting full simultaneous 5-axis contouring and indexed 3+2 positioning across the full work envelope. The CAT40 spindle delivers 30 HP continuous at up to 12,000 RPM, capable of machining aluminum, titanium, Inconel, stainless steel, hardened tool steels, and other engineering alloys demanding in aerospace, medical, and energy applications. A large-capacity side-mount tool changer is standard, and coolant-through spindle capability supports demanding tooling and deep-feature applications.
