2004 HAAS VF2SS VERTICAL MACHINING CENTERS
Specifications & Market Value

Technical Description
The 2004 Haas VF2SS is a 3-axis vertical machining center and the Super Speed variant of the standard VF2 platform, purpose-built for high-speed machining applications. It maintains the same work envelope as the standard VF2 — 30 inches in X, 16 inches in Y, and 20 inches in Z — and the same 36 x 14 inch T-slot table, but features a higher-performance 12,000 RPM CAT40 spindle as standard. This elevated spindle speed makes the VF2SS particularly well-suited for aluminum, non-ferrous metals, composites, and plastics, where high surface footage improves cycle times and surface finish quality. The machine is powered by a 20 HP vector dual-drive spindle motor. Rapid traverse rates are also increased over the standard VF2, reducing non-cut time in high-volume production environments. The machine is equipped with the Haas CNC control, featuring conversational programming, a large color display, and integrated tool-life management. The VF2SS is built on the same rigid cast iron base as the VF2, providing the structural integrity needed for high-speed contouring and precise 3D surface finishing. The machine includes a fully enclosed work area with chip and coolant containment, and is compatible with through-spindle coolant and high-pressure coolant options. It weighs approximately 8,500 lbs and is fully supported by Haas's global service and parts network.
