Technical Description

The Hwacheon Hi-TECH 230BL-YSMC is a multi-tasking horizontal turning center with a main spindle, a sub-spindle, a Y axis and live tooling, on the long (L) bed of Hwacheon's Hi-TECH 230 series. Swing over bed is 29.53 in, maximum cutting diameter 15.75 in and maximum cutting length 22.05 in. The main spindle has an A2-8 nose, a 10 in chuck, a 3.58 in through-hole and 3.19 in bar capacity, and runs to 3,500 rpm on an 18.5 kW (24.8 hp) short-term, 15 kW continuous motor. The sub-spindle carries a 6 in chuck on an A2-5 nose with a 2.44 in through-hole, and runs to 5,000 rpm on a 7.5 kW motor (11 kW optional). The 12-station turret indexes to 24 positions and drives rotary tools at up to 5,000 rpm with a 5.5 kW motor, handling drills to 0.75 in and M16 taps. Strokes are X 9.45 in, Z 27.56 in, Y 4.72 in and sub-spindle B axis 26.18 in, with 1,181 ipm rapids on X and Z. Floor space is 123.35 x 75.77 in, height 82.83 in, and machine weight 14,991 lb. Electrical supply is 40 kVA.
