J&M TL1600D MANUAL LATHE

The J&M TL1600D is a heavy-duty manual lathe designed for large, demanding machining tasks, featuring a maximum swing of 63 inches (1600 mm) over the bed and 49.21 inches (1250 mm) over the cross slide. It accommodates workpieces up to 32 tons in weight, making it suitable for heavy industrial applications. The lathe's spindle has a bore diameter of 3.35 inches (85 mm), allowing through-spindle machining of substantial parts. The machine bed is robustly constructed to ensure stability and precision, with hardened and ground gears in the headstock delivering smooth, quiet operation and long service life. The spindle speeds range broadly from 0.86 to 160 rpm to handle varying machining requirements. It includes tool sections sized at 45x45 mm and features long slide travels for precise tool positioning, with a cross slide travel of approximately 725 mm and middle slide travel around 600 mm. The tailstock quill travel is 300 mm, powered by a 1.5 kW motor to support various drilling and reaming operations. Rapid feed rates are 3000 mm/min longitudinally and 1500 mm/min crosswise, facilitating efficient material removal.
