Technical Description

The J&M TN300 Manual Lathe is a precision-engineered bench lathe designed for versatile turning applications. It features a robust induction-hardened, precision-ground V-way bed for enhanced durability and accuracy. The lathe offers a swing over bed of 11.81 inches (300 mm) and a large spindle bore of 1.50 inches (38 mm) with a taper of MT5, accommodating a wide range of workpieces. The spindle is supported by high-quality tapered roller bearings, ensuring smooth operation and long service life. The machine delivers a variable spindle speed range from 75 to 1,400 RPM across nine steps, allowing for optimal cutting conditions for various materials. The headstock contains hardened, precision-ground gears for reliable power transmission and quiet operation. The gearbox provides extensive feed and threading options, with independent leadscrew and feed rod for precise control. The carriage-mounted spindle control lever enables convenient operation, while adjustable gibs ensure accurate slideway alignment. The tailstock can be offset for taper turning, and the quill features a travel of 90 mm with an MT3 taper. The lathe includes a 1.1 kW motor, automatic feed and threading interlock, and comes equipped with a 3-jaw chuck (160 mm), 4-jaw chuck (200 mm), face plate (250 mm), steady rest, follow rest, taper turning attachment, digital readout system, coolant system, foot brake, and halogen work lamp. The machine’s net weight is 540–620 kg, and it is supplied with a tolerance test certificate and test flow chart for quality assurance.
