Technical Description

The KAAST C-Turn 270/1500 is a precision manual engine lathe designed for versatile turning, threading, and facing operations. This robust machine features a 21-inch swing over bed with a 58.5-inch distance between centers, accommodating workpieces up to 21 inches in diameter. The lathe incorporates hardened, precision-ground guideways and heat-treated bed ways to minimize vibration and tool chattering during heavy-duty machining operations. The 3-inch spindle bore diameter accepts standard tooling and chuck configurations. Powered by a 7.5 kW (10 HP) main spindle motor, the lathe delivers spindle speeds from 25 to 1,545 RPM across 18 steps, with optional inverter capability reaching 27-2,250 RPM for enhanced operational flexibility. The machine features a universal gearbox enabling metric, Whitworth, module, and diametral threading without gear replacement. Standard equipment includes a 3-axis digital readout for precision positioning, 4-post toolholder, 10-inch 3-jaw chuck, coolant system, and safety features including chuck and backsplash guards with footbrake. The 350 mm bed width supports 330 mm X-axis travel and 150 mm Z-axis toolholder travel. Tailstock quill travel measures 170 mm with MT5 taper compatibility. Weighing 2,700 kg (5,940 lbs), this lathe combines traditional manual operation with modern precision features, making it ideal for job shops, tool rooms, and precision manufacturing environments requiring reliable threading and turning capabilities.
