Technical Description
The Mazak INTEGREX i-300S is a multi-tasking turning center from Yamazaki Mazak's INTEGREX i series. It combines a main turning spindle, a second turning spindle and a B-axis milling head with an automatic tool changer, so parts can be turned, milled, drilled and tapped on both ends in one setup. The 60 in designation refers to the 1500U bed, which gives a maximum machining length of 59.8 in, with a maximum swing and maximum machining diameter of 25.91 in. The main spindle carries a 10 in chuck on an A2-8 nose, has a 3.58 in spindle bore, runs to 4,000 rpm and is driven by a 30 kW (40 hp) integral motor. The second spindle also uses an A2-8 nose and runs to 4,000 rpm. The milling spindle runs to 12,000 rpm with a Capto C6 tool interface, and the B-axis swivels through 240 degrees (-30 to +210 degrees). Axis travels are 24.21 in on X, 62.4 in on Z and about 10 in on Y, with 0.0001 degree C-axis contouring on both spindles. The machine was supplied with Mazatrol Matrix 2 or Mazatrol SmoothX CNC controls depending on build year, and the tool magazine capacity depends on the option ordered.
