1991 MAZAK QT18N CNC LATHES
Specifications & Market Value

Technical Description
The Mazak QUICK TURN 18N (QT-18N) is a 2-axis slant-bed CNC turning center from Mazak's QUICK TURN N series. It is a single-spindle machine with a turret, built for general-purpose chucking and bar work such as shafts, bushings, flanges and fittings. The spindle is driven by a 20 HP motor, and the machine has a swing over the bed of about 17 in. The slant-bed layout directs chips away from the cutting zone and gives the operator good access to the chuck and turret. Early-1990s units were supplied with the MAZATROL T32 series CNC. The T32 offers conversational MAZATROL programming, in which the operator builds a turning program at the machine by entering the part shape, material and tooling, and the control generates the cutting passes; EIA/ISO G-code programming is also available. Machines in this class are commonly fitted with a hydraulic three-jaw chuck, a tailstock and a chip conveyor, and a bar feeder can be added for unattended bar work. The QT-18N remains a common machine in job shops, maintenance departments and training settings, where the conversational control and simple 2-axis layout keep setup and programming quick. Maximum speed, turning capacity and tooling details vary between the listings reviewed, so they are not stated here.
