Technical Description

The Mazak QUICK TURN NEXUS 100-II M is a CNC turning center with a milling turret, from Mazak's QUICK TURN NEXUS-II series. It is built on a 300U bed. Maximum swing is 21.65 in (550 mm), maximum machining diameter is 11.02 in (280 mm) and maximum machining length is 13.19 in (335 mm). Bar work capacity is 2.0 in (51 mm). The main spindle carries a 6 in chuck, runs to 6,000 rpm and is rated 15 hp (11 kW) at its 30-minute rating. The upper turret holds 12 tools, and its rotary tools run to 4,500 rpm on a 7.5 hp (6 kW) drive at the 5-minute rating, so milling can be done in the same setup as turning. Axis travels are 7.28 in X and 15.16 in Z. The M version has a single turning spindle; Mazak's MS and MSY versions of the 100-II add a second spindle. Mazak lists the Matrix Nexus as the control type. Series features include an integral spindle motor, full C-axis contouring on machines with rotary tools, a CNC programmable tailstock, a through-hole chuck package, a fast-indexing turret, an automatic tool eye and easy integration of bar feeders and robot loaders.
