Technical Description
The Mazak QUICK TURN SMART 200M is a CNC turning center with a milling turret, part of Mazak's QUICK TURN SMART series. This row is the 500U bed version, nominally 20 in, which gives a maximum machining length of 21.05 in (532 mm). Maximum swing is 26.0 in (660 mm) and maximum machining diameter is 14.25 in (360 mm). Bar work capacity is 2.6 in (65 mm). The main spindle carries an 8 in chuck, runs to 5,000 rpm and is rated 25 hp (19 kW) at its 30-minute rating. The 12-position turret takes rotary tools, which run to 4,500 rpm on a 7.5 hp (6 kW) drive at the 10-minute rating, so milling work can be done in the same setup as turning. Axis travels on the 500U bed are 8.88 in X and 23.75 in Z. The same model was also offered on a 1000U bed with a 41.79 in machining length and 44.25 in of Z travel; swing, machining diameter, chuck size, spindle speed, motor rating and turret stay the same on both beds. The M designation marks the milling version; the base QUICK TURN SMART 200 is the 2-axis turning model.
